NCCR AntiResist hosts Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research
On Tuesday 24 September, NCCR AntiResist hosted the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research as part of their visit to the University of Basel. The delegation was visiting Basel to learn more about the research being done and the funding mechanisms employed in Switzerland to advance research and translation.
While visiting NCCR AntiResist, the members of the delegation were addressed by Prof. Christoph Dehio and Prof. Dirk Bumann, and enjoyed a visit to a laboratory in the Biozentrum to see fundamental research in action.
The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research supports research in science, technology and medicine with several hundered million a year. SSF is an independent player in the public research funding system. The foundation promotes the development of strong research environments of the highest international class with significance for the development of Sweden’s future competitiveness. SSF Continuously funds 300 projects at universities – many of them in collaboration with industry and research institutes. The foundation annually distributes grants worth SEK several hundred million and supports research in engineering, medicine, and natural science.
