AntiResist’s Enea Maffei and Harms Lab publish paper in Nature Communications
Enea Maffei, postdoc at NCCR AntiResist and the team at Prof. Alexander Harms’s AntiResist lab have recently published a paper in Nature Commnications.
While non-growing bacteria are notoriously tolerant to antibiotic drugs, the combination with phage Paride enables carbapenem meropenem to eradicate deep-dormant cultures in vitro and to reduce a resilient bacterial infection of a tissue cage implant in mice.
This is a great achievement for the group and marks AntiResist’s progress and significant contribution to the AMR field.
